For teens · Ages 12–18
Therapy for teens who are tired of hearing “you’re fine” when you’re clearly not. You pick the topics. We figure it out together.
What we can talk about
Big stuff, small stuff, stuff you can’t even name yet. Here’s what teens bring most often.
Try it
Six quick questions. No wrong answers. Find out how your brain and body handle stress, plus what actually helps.
60-second reset
When your heart is racing or your thoughts won’t slow down, try this. Breathe in as it grows, hold, and breathe out slowly as it shrinks. Four rounds is about a minute.

Questions teens actually ask
Nope. Therapy is for anyone going through something hard, which is basically everyone at some point. Think of it like a coach for your mind: a place to figure things out with someone who is on your side.
Talk, mostly, but not in a stare-at-the-wall way. We might use games, art, music, or your favorite shows to get into things. You decide what we talk about, and you can always say “I don’t want to talk about that yet.”
Mostly, yes. What you share stays between us. The exceptions are if someone is hurting you, if you might hurt yourself or someone else, or if a court orders it. We will go over exactly what stays private and what doesn’t in our first session, so there are no surprises.
Usually a parent or caregiver helps get things started and may join some sessions. In California, some teens 12 and older can start therapy on their own. Either way, we talk together about what gets shared with them and what stays between us.
Yes. Sessions happen by secure video, so you can join from anywhere private where you feel comfortable, even in your hoodie with your pet on your lap.
Tell me! Seriously. If something isn’t working, we change it. Finding the right fit matters, and I won’t be offended.
For parents & caregivers
I work with teens and their families, including foster, adoptive, and kinship families, using a trauma-informed, connection-first approach grounded in TBRI®. Sessions are by secure telehealth anywhere in California. A free 15-minute consultation is the easiest way to see if it’s a good fit.
